Description:
Secunia Research has discovered a vulnerability in XnView, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user"s system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when processing the "FontName" parameter of slideshow files (*.sld). This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by e.g. tricking a user into opening a specially crafted slideshow file with an overly long "FontName" parameter.

Successful exploitation allows the execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.92 and 1.92.1. Other versions may also be affected.
